Having staged the FWT, Kappl-Paznaun with its "Quellspitze" and surrouding freeride terrain is absolutely ready for the 3* FWQ-Qualifier. The public area is located on slope 8 at the foot of the "Quellspitze", which allows viewers to best sight on the action put down by the riders on competition day.
It is a tightrope walk, both the way up, and the way down. The ascent to the start of the event, the 'hike' towards the Quellspitz - sometimes just at the 3000 m above sea level, rough and exposed, scary and fascinating at the same time.Looking down into the "face" with inclinations of 50 degrees and more, of peaks and ridges whose names have become myths in recent years. All this can be experienced live, when the best national and international freeriders make their lines at the OPEN FACES event.
Another highlight is the hosting of the Juniors Freeride Tour, a freeride series for young athletes under the age of 18.
