When the scent of freshly baked farmhouse bread fills the air in Kappl’s village square, traditional dishes are being prepared and old Tyrolean crafts are brought to life, summer is all about living tradition. On five Tuesdays between 21 July and 1 September 2026, the Kappl Young Farmers’ Association/Rural Youth invites you to ‘Old Crafts and Farm Life’ – an atmospheric evening event that combines regional cuisine, Tyrolean craftsmanship and authentic folk music.
As part of the ‘Traditional Crafts and Rural Life’ series of events, Kappl village square will become a vibrant showcase for crafts, traditions and culinary delights on five Tuesdays between 21 July and 1 September 2026. Local craftspeople and farmers will offer insights into time-honoured working methods and demonstrate how closely life in the Paznaun has always been linked to nature, agriculture and craftsmanship. The programme will focus, amongst other things, on bread-baking, the preparation of traditional dishes and demonstrations of rural crafts. It will be complemented by the sale of alpine cheese from local mountain pastures. Homemade farmhouse bread will also be available to buy on the spot.
Each evening features musical entertainment from a different group. The programme is hosted by Gottlieb Sailer, who guides the audience through the event with his knowledge, charm and understanding of the region’s traditions. Food and drink are provided by the Kappl Young Farmers’ Association/Rural Youth. Admission is free. In the event of bad weather, the event will take place in the Kappl village hall.
