THE WEATHER TODAY
A prominent high-pressure system, extending from the North Sea across Central Europe to the Balkans, is increasingly shifting its center towards Eastern Europe. This has no immediate effect on the fair weather. Only the air flow over the Alps begins to sustainably shift to a southerly direction from the middle of the week. Until Thursday, we will continue to enjoy brilliant sunshine in a cloudless sky without restrictions. At the same time, the general temperature level is rising. However, the initially clear nights still bring frosty temperatures at the beginning of the day. On Friday, the high-reaching warming will be accompanied by a few harmless, high cirrus clouds. The frost line rises to around 3000m above sea level. Over the weekend, the southern air flow significantly increases in strength, with the southern foehn in the mountains becoming stormy in places. In this process, an increasingly wet southern barrier effect builds up on the main Alpine ridge. North of it, however, the weather development is only slightly foehn-like, variable and free of precipitation.
