THE WEATHER TODAY
The early winter cold and foggy easterly current is now being replaced by a high pressure system that is working its way from the British Isles to Central Europe. This will result in calm and stable fine weather up to and including Friday. It will also be temporarily milder, as on Friday we will already be on the western side of the high, which will move on to Eastern Europe, in a slightly foehn-like southerly current. The wind will pick up again towards Saturday, but this will also herald a weak cold front. Heavy cloud will dominate and the first light precipitation is possible from the late afternoon. The snow line will be around 1100m above sea level. On Sunday, the remnants of this cold front will slowly move on. The last, unproductive showers will quickly subside and the first clearings will mix into the weather. It also cools down again temporarily. However, at the start of the new week, the next high-pressure system from the Mediterranean region works its way towards us and at the same time directs significantly milder air in our direction.
