THE WEATHER TODAY
Low-pressure systems over the Atlantic, which keep regenerating, will continue to be the main driver of the weather soon. This means that a new onset of winter weather is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Nevertheless, temperatures will remain on the relatively cool side of the spectrum until the weekend, and the generally changeable weather conditions may even bring some precipitation at times. The models largely agree that there may be light snowfall down to 1100 meters above sea level for Thursday night and Friday morning. Strong westerly winds could bring further light to moderate precipitation from Saturday evening to Monday morning, especially in the western foothills of the mountains. However, the snow line will rise noticeably to around 2000 meters above sea level. In the inner Alpine regions, on the other hand, it will remain dry due to westerly foehn effects. The weather will improve significantly from next Tuesday, but at the same time a very mild weather phase for the season is expected.
