REVIEW: E-BIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR EVERYONE THRILL ISCHGL AND GALTÜR

More than 1,500 participants from 18 nations, exciting competitions and an impressive backdrop: the fifth E-Bike World Championships for everyone in Ischgl and Galtür were once again a resounding success in 2025. From 4 to 6 September, Paznaun became an international meeting place for e-bike fans – from hobby riders to top international athletes.

SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS: GOLD FOR AUSTRIA

The focus was on the elite category race, in which the local athletes prevailed. In the men's race, professional cyclist Daniel Geismayr from Vorarlberg confidently secured the world championship title on his debut. In the women's race, Lisa Schüttler from Kleinwalsertal put in a convincing performance and surprisingly won the gold medal ahead of multiple title holder Barbara Oberdorfer.

New world champions were also crowned in numerous other categories – in keeping with the event's motto: ‘Anyone can become a world champion.’

PROMINENT PARTICIPANTS & NEW CLASS

In addition to the sporting excitement, the wide range of participants also attracted attention. Numerous prominent personalities from the world of sport – including ski world champions, football and snowboard legends – took to the start line and showed that e-bike sport is for everyone. Another new feature in 2025 was the ‘Everyone Advanced’ category, which offered an intermediate sporting level between elite and everyone.

SIDE PROGRAMME & EXPO

The World Championships were accompanied by a varied side programme. Highlights included the e-bike fox hunt with cross-country skiing star Teresa Stadlober, a large e-bike EXPO with over 40 exhibitors, and interactive programme items such as the EXPO Fun Challenge. A Simplon e-bike was raffled off as part of a large tombola.
