The Silvretta Bike Arena Ischgl/Samnaun is considered one of the most diverse mountain bike destinations in the Alps. This cross-border bike area connects Ischgl in Tyrol with Samnaun in Switzerland and offers outstanding conditions for mountain bikers and e-mountain bikers alike.

Across more than 100 kilometres of trails, routes are available for every level – from easy flow trails for beginners to demanding, technically challenging descents for experienced riders. High-alpine routes lead up to 2,800 metres above sea level, impressing with spectacular panoramic views, varied terrain and long downhill sections.

Our trail recommendations

Smugglers' Trail

From Ischgl up to the Idalp, onwards towards the Viderjoch – and then straight onto the legendary Smugglers’ Trail. Narrow single tracks along the border ridge, spectacular views into the valley below, a waterfall almost within reach, and flowing berms built for speed: this ride demands courage and focus, rewarding riders with pure adrenaline. As a grand finale, the Velill Trail awaits – one of Ischgl’s finest descents, dropping more than 1,000 vertical metres non-stop back down to the valley.

Kronenjoch Epic

The Kronenjoch crossing is not to be underestimated: remote, high-alpine and far from any infrastructure. From the Smugglers’ Trail to the increasingly technical descent towards the Heidelberger Hut, the route demands stamina and skill. The tough climb to the Kronenjoch challenges even e-MTB riders, but is rewarded with rugged gravel sections, steep slopes and a long, root-strewn downhill to Galtür. A true adventure for experienced riders seeking authentic alpine terrain.

Friedrichshafener Hütte

Just around 700 vertical metres – yet a real challenge: the gravel road winds its way up in 16 switchbacks to the Friedrichshafener Hut, before a trail takes over and descends in a loose, rocky drop straight towards the hut. The return via the Diretissima Trail delivers pure enduro feeling: tight, steep and technical – with rock steps and slippery roots included. A perfect short tour for those short on time but keen for a genuine challenge.

Sur Tuot / Davo Dieu

SUR TUOT / DAVO DIEU is not a trail for everyone, but a true promise to skilled riders. Spanning 28 kilometres, the route leads through high-alpine terrain between 2,200 and 2,800 metres, crossing four mountain passes and far beyond any comfort zone. From the Outer Viderjoch, significant climbs and seemingly endless descents unfold into the Scuol trail network – raw, powerful and legendary in the making.
