Get a head start on the cross-country skiing season!
In Galtür, the cross-country skiing season kicks off as early as 5 November 2026. While other destinations are still waiting for the first snowfall, cross-country skiing enthusiasts can already enjoy their first laps on perfectly groomed trails in the highest village in the Paznaun valley.
Thanks to snow farming, two specially prepared opening trails at Sedlsee, measuring 1.79 and 5 kilometres, offer ideal conditions for an early start to winter. Situated at an altitude of around 1,700 to 1,800 metres, the trails are suitable for both classic and skating techniques. Whether you're an ambitious athlete, part of a training group or a recreational cross-country skier, the stunning Silvretta mountain scenery provides the perfect backdrop for the start of the season.
- Opening hours: Daily from 08:00 to 17:00
- Training slots: 08:00 - 10:30, 10:30 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:30
- Trail fee: €10.00 per person per time slot
The trails can be accessed directly from the Silvretta High Alpine Road in Galtür, with parking available at the trailhead.
