After international stars such as Elton John, Tina Turner and John Bon Jovi have already given a "Top of the Mountain Concert" in Ischgl, this year Ischgl's tourism organisers have succeeded in engaging the Austrian superstar: Udo Jürgens has been an indisputable fixed star in the pop sky since his victory at the 1966 Grand Prix D'Eurovision in Luxembourg with "Merci, Chérie".
On 3 May, the Ischgl winter season came to an end for the 15th time with the Spring Snow Festival, the highlight of which is the "Top of the Mountain Concert". The legendary open-air concerts on the Idalp, in the middle of one of the most beautiful ski areas in the Alps, have attracted more than 14,000 visitors to the Idalp every year for the past 14 years. With the engagement of pop great Udo Jürgens, these successes can be seamlessly continued: The figures for his last tour show that Jürgens is still a crowd-puller par excellence.
On his 16th tour "Udo 2000 - Mit 66 Jahren, da fängt das Leben an" (2000/01), the eternally young Udo Jürgens captivated over 400,000 visitors at just over 100 concerts. In total, around 5 million people have seen the entertainer live on his 16 tours of German-speaking Europe to date. Udo Jürgens has also enjoyed successful guest appearances in almost all parts of the world, including the USA, Australia, China, the UK and South Africa.
Songs such as "Aber bitte mit Sahne", "Griechischer Wein" and "17 Jahr', blondes Haar" have been popular party songs for several generations and were of course also performed on the Idalp.
