THE CORRS OPEN WINTER SEASON 2004/05 IN ISCHGL
Free concert by the exceptional Irish band on 27 November 2004 from 6.00 pm at the Silvretta Seilbahn Platz
Winter in Ischgl begins this year on Saturday 27 November 2004 with a big open-air concert by the Corrs. "We are very proud that we have once again succeeded in giving our guests a concert of superlatives," says Andreas Steibl, Managing Director of the Ischgl Tourist Board. "The Corrs are now one of the most sought-after bands in the world - and here in Ischgl, our guests can attend the Corrs concert free of charge."
The Corrs have already played a Christmas concert at the Vatican, sung with Luciano Pavarotti, sold out London's Royal Albert Hall and opened for the Rolling Stones. Their second album "Talk On Corners" even became the best-selling longplayer of 1998 in the UK and achieved multi-platinum status in 15 countries. The third studio album "IN BLUE" built on the success of its predecessor and sold over six million copies worldwide. It reached the number one position in 18 countries.
After years of a creative break, The Corrs returned this spring with their new album "Borrowed Heaven". And you get the feeling that they never really left.
The four siblings from Ireland have made traditional Irish music socially acceptable, not least with their unplugged album. Their hit singles, such as "What Can I Do?", "Radio" and "Breathless", finally brought the musical family the success they deserved in this country - because the Corrs have actually been around for 10 years. But the four of them also have a lot to offer as actors: They made their first appearance in the film "The Commitments", which soon became a cult hit. Andrea Corr was also given the role of Juan Peròn's lover in "Evita". The Corrs see themselves as real musicians, so each of the four plays at least one instrument, including violin, drums, piano and guitar.
