Nickelback kicked off the winter season at the Top of the Mountain Opening Concert in Ischgl on 30 November 2013. The Canadian rock band thrilled over 21,000 fans at the legendary open-air concert in front of an impressive mountain backdrop in the centre of the Alpine lifestyle metropolis.
Ischgl rocked into the winter season with Nickelback on 30 November 2013 with powerful anthems and smoky ballads. At the legendary Top of the Mountain Concert, frontman Chad Kroeger's raspy voice, accompanied by an impressive light show and skilful guitar riffs, impressed 21,000 fans. Hits such as "Photograph" and "How You Remind Me" melted the ice in front of an impressive mountain backdrop and fired up the celebrating crowd. Fans had travelled from home and abroad to enjoy the band's top hits in the evening after a perfect day of skiing in the Silvretta Arena. With their open-air performance, the four Canadians followed in big footsteps: world stars such as Elton John, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Pink, Kylie Minogue and Alicia Keys have already rocked the stage in the Alpine lifestyle metropolis.
Skiing during the day, rocking entertainment in the evening
Winter sports enthusiasts in Ischgl were already able to hit the slopes two days earlier, as skiing started on Thursday, 28 November 2013, with the best snow conditions and many varied slopes all the way to Samnaun in Switzerland. Ischgl offers its guests perfect skiing fun in the Silvretta Arena until the beginning of May 2014. At the end of December 2013, the winter sports paradise will be expanded for the first time in over 20 years. With the opening of the new "Piz Val Gronda" lift, skiers can look forward to a new red piste and direct access to a previously unknown freeride hotspot.
