Helene Fischer ended a snowy ski season with the Top of the Mountain Closing Concert in Ischgl on 30 April 2018 at 2,320 metres above sea level in glorious sunshine. New Ischgl concert record: 26,000 winter sports fans experienced the superstar and her band in front of a spectacular mountain backdrop in the ski resort.
A fully booked valley, glorious sunshine, perfect piste conditions and a Helene Fischer in a great mood - the 26,000 fans and winter sports fans in attendance at the Ischgl season finale on 30 April with the concert starting at 1 pm left nothing to be desired. The first fans secured their front row seats at the concert site as early as 7am. At an altitude of 2,320 metres, the currently most successful singer in Europe created an exuberant atmosphere at the Top of the Mountain Closing Concert on the legendary Idalp stage with her powerful voice and a sensational two-hour open-air performance. Helene Fischer and her nine-piece band performed her most successful songs such as "Herzbeben", "Nur mit dir", "Ich will immer wieder ... dieses Fieber spür'n", "Achterbahn" and, of course, her mega-hit "Atemlos durch die Nacht".
As a tribute to the host country Austria, the passionate skier surprised the audience towards the end of the concert with the song "Heast as net" by Hubert von Goisern. "We've performed on many stages, but today was pure goosebumps! I couldn't get enough of this wonderful panorama. It was amazing," said Helene Fischer euphorically. Due to the large number of visitors, the event area on the Idalp had to be extended for the second time in the history of the Top of the Mountain Closing Concerts. Only Robbie Williams had previously managed this at the 2014 season finale. As measures had already been taken in advance to divert skiers over a large area, skiing was not affected during the concert.
The Ischgl organisers were not only delighted with the 26,000 winter sports enthusiasts in the ski area at the season finale, but also with a fully booked valley. "With this spectacular finale, we can look back on a successful and snowy winter season. We are proud that we were able to delight our guests from the first to the last day with the best skiing conditions and are already looking forward to the next winter season," says Andreas Steibl, Managing Director of the Paznaun-Ischgl Tourist Board. The ski season in Ischgl ends on 1 May 2018.
