Start of the season in Ischgl: On 23 November, the Alpine lifestyle metropolis opened its ski gates and kicked off the 2012/13 winter season for the first time with a Festival Opening Week in cooperation with Volkswagen. None other than megastar Amy Macdonald kicked things off. At the open-air concert on the legendary Top of the Mountain Opening Stage, the 25-year-old Scot wowed the audience with her voluminous voice and rousing guitar pop.
Despite the cold, Amy Macdonald was impressed by the breathtaking backdrop and the numerous fans and was delighted to be able to perform in Ischgl. Amy Macdonald was well equipped with a heating pad for her fingers so that she could perform perfectly on the guitar as usual. After a successful welcome in German, she created an unrivalled atmosphere for the audience.
Her catchy hits such as "This Is the Life", "Don't Tell Me That It's Over" or the current hit "Slow It Down" from her latest album "Life in a Beautiful Light" were not to be missed by over 8,000 visitors after a day of skiing in the Silvretta Arena. With 27 lifts open and perfectly groomed pistes, holidaymakers were treated to perfect skiing conditions and a top-class supporting programme during the day.
