Ischgl legt nach der Tennissaison noch einen drauf

Just a few days after the Davis Cup Final, Dominic Thiem, Tommy Haas, Mischa Zverev, Feliciano López, Jürgen Melzer and Fabio Fognini will face off at the Ischgl Trophy – three exclusive evenings of tennis in front of 750 spectators.
Ischgl, 21 September 2026 – The ATP season concludes on 22 November with the Finals in Turin, whilst the year’s final major showdown takes place a week later at the Davis Cup in Bologna. Three days later, however, the action continues in Ischgl: from 2 to 4 December, the second Ischgl Trophy will once again bring big names from the world of international tennis onto the court.
Top line-up
With Dominic Thiem, the Austrian who celebrated his greatest career success at the 2020 US Open will once again be taking part. In the final in New York, he defeated Alexander Zverev after trailing 0–2 in sets.
But there is also more than a hint of the current US Open champion in the mix: Mischa Zverev has been part of his brother Alexander’s inner circle for years. The German recently won his second Grand Slam title of the year in New York. Mischa Zverev was by his side throughout the tournament – in December, he’ll have to show what he’s made of himself.
For Jürgen Melzer, the route to Ischgl goes directly via the Final 8. Austria qualified for the Davis Cup Final this weekend with a 3–1 victory over Belgium. Melzer will be on the sidelines in Bologna as sporting director and Davis Cup captain – a few days later, the former world number eight will be back on court himself at the Ischgl Trophy.
The international stars are also bringing some extraordinary stories with them to Tyrol:
Feliciano López holds a record in the men’s game that above all demonstrates his exceptional consistency: From Roland Garros 2002 to the Australian Open 2022, the Spaniard featured in the main draw of 79 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments. No other unbroken run in men’s tennis has been longer.
Fabio Fognini was still world number 9 as recently as 2019. At the age of 32, he broke into the top 10 for the first time – becoming the first Italian to do so since Corrado Barazzutti in 1979. In the same year, he won Monte Carlo, thereby also becoming the first Italian ever to win a Masters 1000 title.
The field is rounded off by the German-American Tommy Haas. The former world number two clearly shows no signs of slowing down with age. At the age of 39, he handed Roger Federer his only grass-court defeat of the entire 2017 season in Stuttgart.
Now, at 48, he is our defending champion: in the final of the 2025 Ischgl Trophy, Tommy Haas defeated Dominic Thiem 6–3.
Just 750 seats, three evenings of up-close action
What makes the Ischgl Trophy special is not so much its size as its intimacy. The tennis centre will be expanded to accommodate around 750 spectators for the tournament. On all three days of play, the gates open at 6 pm, with the first matches starting at 7 pm.
Matches will be played from Wednesday to Friday. The programme includes group matches, semi-finals, as well as the bronze and gold matches. An exhibition doubles match will also take place. This gives spectators the chance to see former world-class players in an indoor setting of a scale rarely seen in top-level international tennis these days.
“After the ATP and Davis Cup Finals, the official tennis season is actually over. That’s exactly when we bring the crowd favourites back together on court once more – in a venue where spectators are seated right in the thick of the action. That’s the idea behind the Ischgl Trophy,” explains tournament director Tobias Bosch
Following the conclusion of the tennis matches on Friday evening, a charity ski race will take place on Saturday, 5 December to round off the event. 
Of course, the programme for the second Ischgl Trophy also includes parties and side events to accompany the three evenings of tennis.
