On 4 April 2010, Sportfreunde Stiller thrilled 19,500 spectators at the Top of the Mountain Easter Concert on the legendary open-air stage on the Idalp at an altitude of 2,300 metres. The atmosphere was sensational, as Sportfreunde Stiller delivered one hit after another during the two-hour concert - unplugged.
With hits such as "Ich war noch niemals in New York", "Ein Kompliment" and "Ich, Roque!", Sportfreunde Stiller sang their way into the hearts of 19,500 enthusiastic winter sports fans on Easter Sunday in Ischgl and created a fantastic atmosphere in the ski resort on the Idalp two months before the start of the World Cup in perfect piste conditions. The Sporties didn't come alone, however, but travelled with a string quartet, brass section, piano player, additional guitarists, choir and a Chinese erhu player, making for an unforgettable unplugged concert in Ischgl.
The beautiful weather and perfect snow conditions in Ischgl attracted Sportfreunde Stiller to the slopes of the Silvretta Arena on the Saturday before the concert. With their concert, the Munich-based band followed in the footsteps of stars such as Fantastische Vier, Wir sind Helden and the Scissor Sisters, who have all performed at the legendary Top of the Mountain Easter Concert in Ischgl.
Don't worry: even if the concert highlight at Easter has already created a World Cup atmosphere, the winter season in Ischgl is far from over: thanks to its altitude of between 1,400 and 2,900 metres, the Tyrolean Alpine lifestyle metropolis is known for particularly good snow conditions and will continue to provide unadulterated skiing fun until the end of the season at the beginning of May with 235 kilometres of pistes all the way to Samnaun in Switzerland and a perfect infrastructure.
