Hiking in Ischgl, Tyrol

Discover the Paznaun Alps at their most beautiful on foot...

‘Travelling means getting to a destination. Hiking is all about being out and about!'

Ischgl is the ideal starting point for fascinating hiking tours in one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in the Alps. Its location in the middle of the Paznaun region makes this former mountain farming village an ideal starting point for discoverers and connoisseurs; for athletes, families and Alpine lodge fans.

Either proceed directly from the town into Tyrol’s hiking realm, taking the cable cars up, and immerse yourself while up at the top in the impressive Silvretta mountains; or take the hiking bus to the neighbouring towns, which are also the starting point for many hiking routes.
More than 1000 kilometres of hiking routes are available. There are of course suitable refreshments on offer at the many Alpine lodges and inns which are open in summer right the way through to autumn.

On the many and diverse tours in the Paznaun region beginner’s through to pros get to descend into the surrounding valleys, climb mountains, and discover waterfalls, reservoirs, glaciers and much more. There are also some lovely adventures and tranquil times to be experienced in the natural surroundings. Ideal to regain some of that energy which day-to-day living robs you of.

For everyone who enjoys being out and about as part of a group, the tourism association in Paznaun provides a joint hiking weekly programme of events. The routes are for experienced hikers and for beginners and leisure walkers alike.

For the most part the tours proceed on picturesque routes to cosy Alpine lodges and traditional inns. Combined with the fresh air you can re-harmonise body, spirit and soul.
Incidentally, while hiking together it’s easier to get to know other guests and you can sense the warmth of a convivial atmosphere.
