SEEED

The ski season 2019/20 has official begun and this year Ischgl started winter as the largest carbon-neutral ski resort in the Alps. On 30 November, the resort kicked off the season in spectacular style with perfect slope conditions, glorious sunshine and the Top of the Mountain Opening Concert with SEEED attended by 21,500 winter sports enthusiasts.

On 30 November, Ischgl celebrated the start of the winter season with a spectacular Top of the Mountain Opening Concert with SEEED. The ten-piece band from Berlin got the party started at 6 pm, thrilling their fans with hits like "Augenbling", "Ding", "Dickes B" and "Ticket", in the heart of the glamourous ski resort. The opening was attended by 21,500 visitors and Ischgl was delighted to have a fully booked valley.
This season, winter enthusiasts with a ski pass for the Silvretta Arena will be able to ski across the border - from Austria to Switzerland - until 3 May 2020. New facilities for winter 2019/20 include two chairlifts with hoods and seat heating: the 6-seater Velilleck F1 chairlift and the 8-seater Visnitz N2 chairlift. Further information: www.ischgl.com.

The largest carbon-neutral ski resort in the Alps – because there’s no Planet B

Ischgl starts winter 2019/20 as the largest, certified, carbon-neutral ski resort in the Alps. The ski resort has implemented several measures to minimise its carbon footprint: all facilities operated by the cable car company Silvrettaseilbahn AG in the Ischgl ski area are now powered almost entirely by renewable energy, mainly generated by local hydroelectric plants. In addition, the solar and heat recovery systems in the region save an estimated 80,000 litres of heating oil per year. Over the past few years, more than 10,000 trees have been planted in Ischgl. Silvrettaseilbahn AG is also committed to offsetting all unavoidable carbon emissions through an internationally recognised climate protection project and a reforestation programme in Paznaun and Ischgl. These efforts have earned Ischgl a carbon-neutral status. Further information: www.ischgl.com/klimaneutral.

Further Ischgl concerts in April

On Easter Sunday, 12 April 2020, the German rapper Sido will make his Ischgl debut at the Top of the Mountain Easter Concert. He will perform in the heart of the ski area on the world-famous Idalp stage (2,320 m) from 1 pm. Sido will bring his suitcase of hits like "Astronaut", "Pictures in the head" and "Thousand tattoos". The line up for International Spring Snow Festival on Alp Trida on 26 April 2020 and for the 25th anniversary of Top of the Mountain Closing Concert on 2 May 2020 on the Idalp stage will be announced shortly. Thanks to its high altitude, winter sports enthusiasts will find perfect piste conditions in Ischgl until late spring. Skiers and snowboarders can glide down 239 km of slopes in the Silvretta Arena until end of the season on 3 May 2020.
