On 17 and 18 April 2023, Ischgl's pistes will be the scene of a fast-paced culinary event: at the 23rd Star Cup of the Chefs, the international culinary elite will duel in a giant slalom on the piste and prove their class in live cooking on the legendary Idalp stage.
Who has the best recipe for the day's victory? This is the question on the minds of the cooking elite at the 23rd Star Cup of the Chefs in Ischgl. Once a year, 50 starred and toque chefs from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol meet there for a giant slalom with a chef's duel on the Idjoch slope. This year's cult event organised by Champagne Laurent-Perrier and the Tourist Association Paznaun - Ischgl will once again feature numerous cooking stars. If you want to win, you have to prove yourself on the slopes and in the kitchen: In the giant slalom, hundredths of a second count instead of hard-earned Gault Millau points, Michelin stars or toques. Afterwards, the challenge is to convince the celebrity jury in the culinary test on the Idalp stage. Spectators with a valid ski pass can cheer on their favourites on the slopes and in the kitchen. Experience tip: A cooking show on 17 April at 1 pm on the Idalp stage.
Traditional Cup with cult status
The Star Chefs' Cup was born in 1997 from a spontaneous idea by Thomas Schreiner, German head of Laurent-Perrier, and Hans Haas, head chef of the Munich Tantris. The event with highly decorated star chefs immediately found favour in the sports and culinary scene and has since achieved cult status. Since 2005, the Alpine lifestyle metropolis Ischgl has been responsible for the organisation and realisation in cooperation with Champagne Laurent-Perrier. Partners supporting the event include: S.Pellegrino/Aqua Panna, Der Feinschmecker, Palux, Deutsche See, Lavazza and the Silvrettaseilbahn AG.
