Workshops and courses for beginners and advanced

Whether you’re already a skilled skier or freerider or you’d like to become one: with an experienced guide at your side, your tour through the Tyrolean mountains will get a lot more exciting. And you’ll learn a lot, too! There’s always room for improvement when it comes to your technique – either when climbing a mountain with your touring skis or freeriding through the untouched, open terrain. 

Courses for freeriders

It’s no surprise that freeriding is so appealing to skiers and snowboarders. Its special allure is the feeling of freedom that awaits on the hillsides. Be the first one to leave your tracks in the snow – far off the slopes – and experience the Tyrolean powder snow at its best. The Ischgl ski schools offers courses for beginners as well as advanced freeriders. 

The following applies to all freeride courses: 

  • Meeting point – on the day of the course: at 9:15 am at the mountain office of the Ischgl ski school at the Idalp 
  • Number of participants: min. 4 people 
  • Safety equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe are provided by the ski school (free of charge)

1-day freeride course for beginners: 

  • Duration: 4,5 hours
  • Start of the course: every Sunday
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes; parallel and short turns
  • Contents of the course: Avalanche transceiver training, improvement of the skiing technique, safe conduct off the slopes, first descents on moderately steep terrain near the slopes
  • Price: 93.00 EUR per person, excl. lift pass and equipment


3-day freeride course for beginners: 

  • Duration: 3 days – 4,5 hours / day
  • Start of the course: every Sunday
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes; parallel and short turns
  • Contents of the course: 
    Day 1: Avalanche transceiver training, skills get tested
    Day 2 and 3: first exploration of some routes, improvement of the technique
  • Price: 219.00 EUR per person, excl. lift pass and equipment 

 

3-day freeride course for advanced skiers: 

  • Duration: 3 days – 4,5 hours / day
  • Start of the course: every Monday
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes and all types of snow; parallel and short turns
  • Contents of the course: 
    Day 1: skills get tested
    Day 2 and 3: individual programme by the guide – based on snow conditions and the skill level of the group 
  • Price: 219.00 EUR per person, excl. lift pass and equipment

Courses for ski tourers 

You can easily do without cable cars and lifts and prefer to climb the Tyrolean summits with just your skis, all while listening to the snow crunch underneath you? It’s certainly no surprise that ski touring has become one of the most popular off-piste sports. The ski touring courses and workshops at the Ischgl ski school are targeted at beginners and advanced ski tourers. What are you waiting for? Get to know and love this sport. Improve your skills and discover the ski resort Ischgl from an entirely new perspective! 

The following applies to all ski touring courses: 

  • Meeting point – on the day the course starts: at 9:00 am at the mountain office of the Ischgl ski school at the Idalp
  • Number of participants: min. 4 people for all multi-day courses; min. 3 people for the introductory course 
  • Safety equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe are provided by the ski school (free of charge); airbag-backpacks can be rented upon request 

Ski touring introductory course: 

  • Duration: 3,5 to 4 hours
  • Start of the course: every Friday
  • Registration: until 4:30 pm of the day before at the ski school’s office
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes and all types of snow; parallel and short turns; good level of physical fitness 
  • Duration of the ascent: approx. 1,5 hours  
  • Price: 97.00 EUR per person, incl. avalanche transceiver, excl. equipment (a list is provided at the office of the ski school) 

 

3-day touring camp for beginners:

  • Duration: 3 days
  • Start of the course: every Wednesday
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes and all types of snow; parallel and short turns, good level of physical fitness
  • Programme: 
    Day 1: equipment check, avalanche transceiver and technical appliances training, safe conduct off the slopes, correct handling of the touring equipment; ascent technique: kick turns
    Day 2 and 3: individual programme by the guide – depending on snow conditions and the skill level of the group 
    Price: 247.00 EUR per person, incl. avalanche transceiver, excl. equipment (a list is provided at the office of the ski school) 

 

3-day touring camp for advanced ski tourers: 

  • Duration: 3 days
  • Start of the course: every Wednesday
  • Conditions for participating: safe technique on all slopes and all types of snow; parallel and short turns; good level of physical fitness, experience with ski tours
  • Programme: 
    Day 1: equipment check, introductory ski tour 
    Day 2 and 3: individual programme by the guide – based on snow and weather conditions and the skill level of the group 
    Price: 247.00 EUR per person, incl. avalanche transceiver, excl. equipment (a list is provided at the office of the ski school)
