While hiking at the Paznaun, you’re really drawing on unlimited possibilities! 1,000 kilometres of signposted hiking trails are winding through the most beautiful valley of Tyrol. Plenty of them cross in Ischgl from where you have direct access to the network of trails. But it’s even more convenient to use one of the many cable cars and lifts to get to the starting point of your hike. Then you can get active high up in the mountains right away …
You’ll be surprised at how diverse Tyrol can be! In Ischgl, there’s everything from high alpine landscapes to reservoir lakes and lush green pastures or forests. In between? The neighbouring towns of Galtür, Kappl and See as well as lots of possibilities for a “pit-stop”: you should definitely grant yourself some time to take a breather at some of the rustic mountain huts and restaurants. As a reward for a challenging ascent, you’ll not only get to look forward to some stunning scenic views of the mountains but also some home-made Tyrolean delicacies.
The impressive summits of the Greitspitz and the Flimspitz can be reached via two short and sweet vie ferrate. Perfect for all those who want to make their first few climbing experiences – ideally, together with an experienced guide. By the way, there are a few challenging passages for climbing experts along the two vie ferrate as well.

The Silvrettarun 3000 is known far and wide amongst running fans by now. Every year in July, countless athletes take on the challenge of this mountain run. But if you don’t want to enjoy the mountains in Ischgl only during the competition, you can try out three other routes year-round: small (11.2 kilometres), medium (29.9 kilometres) and hard (42.19 kilometres). They’re also perfect in preparation for competitions or for training camps.
Besides these standard trail running routes, there are plenty of other trails that can be explored in running gear as well, of course.
Passionate runners don’t have to make do without their favourite sport during a holiday in Ischgl. Amongst the 11 routes, there are some for beginners as well as top athletes. Moments of joy and happiness while running in Tyrol don’t just arise because of the superb conditions of the trails, though. The routes at the Paznaun are also surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains that Austria has to offer.
Nordic Walking can be done anywhere – but for the most beautiful high routes, you’ll have to come to Ischgl! Whether it’s as an alternative to alpine hiking or to get in shape again: outside in the fresh Tyrolean mountain air, Nordic Walking will soon become your favourite type of exercise!
