An interesting fact about the origin of the name 'Vider Alp'
If you are a local, or have been here before, you may have noticed on the Panorama channel that they sometimes use the word 'Idjoch', and other times the word 'Viderjoch'. Both mean exactly the same thing!
If you ask a local, they would never say “I’ve been on the Idalp” – but rather: “I’ve been up Vid”. That is where the name Vider Alp stems from.
