Lareintal - Ritzenjoch mountain - Heidelberger Hütte chalet - Ischgl – difficult tour – 5 hours
This hiking trail originates at the wildlife park in Mathon. The trail leads to the Larain Alpe Alpine pasture and the former toll hut. Shortly before that the trail crosses the Lareinbach mountain river and ascends Ritzenjoch mountain. Hairpin bends take you down into the Fimbertal valley where the Heidelberger Hütte chalet invites you to stop for a hearty snack. With a bit of luck you can watch marmots and chamois as you eat.
Getschnerscharte mountain - Bielerhöhe mountain pass – difficult tour – 5 hours
The town square in Galtür is the starting point for this hiking tour into the Jamtal valley. Cross the Jambach mountain river and ascend to Getschnerscharte mountain. Snowy patches on the well-groomed hiking trail are even possible in summer. Keep right on the steep terrain and follow the signposted trail to the first fork in the road. Take the trail into the Bieltal valley towards Bielerhöhe mountain pass.
Edmund Graf Hütte chalet – Hoher Riffler mountain – difficult tour – 6 hours
This trail starts at the Diasalpe Alpine pasture above Kappl. Take the trail to Schmalgrubscharte mountain past Lake Schmalgrubensee towards the Edmund Graf Hütte Alpine chalet. Here the Hohe Riffler mountain, one of the highest summits of the Verwallgruppe mountain range is waiting for you. The trail back will lead you again past the Edmund Graf Hütte Alpine chalet to the Kappler Joch ridge. The ascent leads past Lake Blankasee to Oberhaus and back to Kappl.
Furglerjoch ridge – Furgler mountain - difficult tour – 6.5 hours
Medrigalm Alpine pasture, which is accessible by cable car, is the starting point of this trail towards Ascherhütte chalet. A footpath towards Furgler mountain branches off at the Panoramarestaurant Gratl. Follow the signs until you reach the Furglerjoch ridge. The final ascent leads to the summit of Furgler mountain at 3,004 metres above sea level. Marvellous views in every direction are waiting for you.
