Do you have any further questions? Find out more about mountain biking in Tyrol. Good to know: mountain biking for families with children, holiday seasons, the Ischgl Trailground and much more...
Q: When is the best season for mountain bike holidays in Ischgl? When is mountain biking possible?
A: Mountain biking is possible between June and October. Depending on the weather and snow conditions most of the tours and trails are suitable for mountain biking from the middle of May to the beginning of June. The season lasts until late October. Indulge in mountain bike holidays in Tyrol throughout the summer - due to the high altitude extremely hot weather is very unlikely.
Q: How do I combine my family holidays with my children with mountain biking fun in Tyrol?
A: Mountain biking is not really suitable for children, as there are only a limited number of easy trails, but that should not stop you from enjoying bike holidays in Austria. Most of the single-trails and bike tours demand a certain degree of experience and physical finess. There is an excellent holiday programme for children in Ischgl - and various leisure activities for the entire family. Take some time for your kids, but do not forget to enjoy some time on your own on your mountain bike!
Q: We are members of a mountain bike club (or just a couple of friends) and we would like to combine biking and partying. Is Ischgl as much a party hotspot in summer as it is in winter?
A: Fewer parties - more indulgence. Ischgl is much quieter in summer than in winter. But why not follow the motto: 'the party is wherever we are'. There is no need to go home thirsty. Yet setting out on a mountain bike trip sober and alert is absolutely essential.
Q: Do I have to drive long distances from Ischgl with my car to get to the fantastic single-trails and bike tours? Do the cable cars run in summer?
A: 1.: No. 2.: Yes. Start your mountain bike tour right in Ischgl! But why not take the cable car to lofty heights - and the starting points of numerous trails?
F: Is there a practise course in Ischgl?
A: Yes. The 'Ischgl Trailground' practise course lies in the close vicinity of Ischgl. Not suitable for beginners, this course with 15 obstacles is perfectly suited to improve your existing mountain bike skills.
F: Is there a shuttle service that will return me to Ischgl after an extended tour?
A: Yes. On one hand there are individually bookable bike shuttles, which cost an additional fee, on the other hand there is a good network of public transport to take you and your bike back to Ischgl. Public transport and the cable cars of the region are free of charge with the Silvretta Card.
