Ischgl ski area – what you need to know
Here is some important information and a few rules to make skiing in Ischgl in the Silvretta Arena safer and to help prevent unexpected incidents. In addition, there is some useful information for possible reductions. Please take the time to read these tips. You will find out, among other things, when you may begin the last run or the telephone number of the mountain rescue.
Your safety is our greatest concern – it only takes a few minutes to find out what you must be aware of in the winter sport area Ischgl.
Regulations governing the issue of free tickets/passes
(Please note that there are no separate group rates). The tour manager will receive a free ticket/pass for groups of 20 or more. For groups of 40 or more, the coach driver will also receive a free ticket/pass or voucher entitling him/her to a special daily rate for the leisure centre. Condition – the coach must remain parked in Ischgl. The group must have a minimum of 20 paying holidaymakers.
Children younger than 8 years
may use all the facilities free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Children younger than 17 years may take advantage of children's discount. Children over 4 need to show their age.
Families:
All other children (the youngest) travel free of charge when a joint ski pass for two children and at least one full-paying adult is purchased. This promotion relates exclusively to children where a child reduction or free travel would otherwise be applicable. Presentation of the Guest Card and official documentation for all family members (i.e. passports) will be required.
Children travelling on chairlifts:
Children under 1.10m (approx. 3ft 7in) tall must travel on their parent/guardian’s lap. Children between 1.10m (approx. 3ft 7in) and 1.25m (approx. 4ft 1in) tall will have their own seat to travel on provided a parent/guardian travels in the adjacent seat.
Senior Citizens:
The senior citizen rate will apply to adults over the age of 60 on presentation of official documentation (i.e. passport).
Disabled:
The senior citizen rate will apply to disabled visitors with valid documentation (i.e. 70% incapacity for work).
Contactless Data Carriers: Key Card and Swatch Access:
All ski passes for 3 days or longer will be issued as key cards. A refundable deposit of €5.00 will apply. Key cards may be returned to cable car ticket offices. In some instances, key cards may also be returned to hoteliers, sports stores and restaurants. Please note that passes for 1 or 2 days will be issued exclusively on magnetic cards.
Refunds:
Refunds will in principle apply only in the event of skiing accidents as confirmed in a medical certificate issued by a doctor practising in the ski region. Refunds will not apply to individuals accompanying the injured party. The refund will take effect as of the day the ski pass is returned to a ski pass office and only on presentation of the purchase receipt (deactivation receipt). Should the ski pass be returned before 10am, this day will also be refunded. No refunds will be issued in the event of an early departure date, or if services are suspended as a result of events beyond the company’s control, e.g. poor weather conditions, force majeure, the suspension of individual services or the closure of ski slopes. A handling fee of €11.00 will apply.
Lost Cards:
Lost ski passes for 1 or 2 days will not be replaced. A ski pass valid for a minimum of 3 days will, if lost, be replaced on presentation of the purchase receipt (deactivation receipt) and official documentation (i.e. passport). A handling fee of €11.00 will apply. Damaged cards will not be accepted. Defective cards will be exchanged only on presentation of the purchase receipt (deactivation receipt).
General Provisions:
All ski passes, excluding the Season Ticket Pass, will be issued without a passport photo. Ski passes are not transferable and must be presented to authorised personnel when requested to do so. It is not possible to exchange the period of validity at a later date or to extend or postpone it. Cards not bought at ski pass offices or cards that have been lost will be blocked at the readers. Any misuse of the ski pass will lead to its withdrawal and a special rate being calculated. We reserve the right to prosecute. Ticket inspections are carried out. Please note that only guests holding a valid ticket will be covered for insurance purposes. Fare conditions and conditions of carriage apply.
Silvretta Transfer:
All ski passes allow free use of the ski buses operating between Ischgl/Ebene and Galtür/Wirl. There will be a restricted bus transfer service at the beginning and end of the season. Please contact Tourist Information for more details.
Live Pictures and Snow Phone:
Rolling weather updates from the Idalpe can be received on television sets with a cable connection. Austrian State Television (ORF) broadcasts live pictures of our ski area on channel ORF 2. Information on current snow conditions is available by calling: 5266 11.
Piste Emergency Rescue Service: Tel: 05444 606600
The Piste Emergency Rescue Service monitors only marked and open ski pistes. There are 16 emergency personnel on stand-by. Please note that there is a transportation charge of up to €110.00. Contact posts are located at all cable cars, ski tows and restaurants. Every slope has an identification number. Local Police: Tel: 059133 7142
Beware:
After the last lift services have departed there is a constant risk of avalanche blasts, machinery on the pistes, winches and snow cannons, etc.
Important Notice:
Please note the closing times for the mountain lifts operating in the Idalp - Alp Trida area. The last mountain ride on the Idjochbahn and Flimjochbahn is at 4pm. If you are late you will have to return to Samnaun or Ischgl by taxi. Some services may be closed and there may be limited skiing at the beginning and end of the season.
