The Ischgl Ironbike rules
The provisions and competition directives of the UCI apply to the Ischgl Ironbike - the ultimate race in the Alps. The most important provisions are listed below - these will ensure that the competition remains safe and fair.
- A protective helmet is compulsory during the race
- Each participant competes on his/her own account and risk
- The organiser accepts no liability before, during and after the race (also in relation to third-parties)
- The instructions of the race management, course marshals, and medical personnel must be complied with.
- Any type of external support designed to increase performance is prohibited for the entire duration of the race
- Accompanying vehicles (including mountain bikes) are not permitted on the course
- The refreshment zones are also technical assistance zones
- No contact is permitted between support personnel and riders during refreshment periods
- Support personnel are not permitted to place drinking bottles on the bikes, they must be handed over
- Any eventual "feeding" of the participants is forbidden
- Support personnel are not permitted to run next to the rider when handing over supplies
- Violation of the competition rules will lead to disqualification
- In the event of irregularities or gross unsportsmanlike conduct, the race management are entitled to issue an irrevocable disqualification
- The organiser reserves the right to refuse active participants entry to the event without giving any reason.
