Cultural Hiking
At Ischgl you can combine hiking with knowledge
Take yourself on a journey through time. On the Fimba culture trail you receive a deep insight into the fascinating past of the imposing high valley in the Silvretta. The Fimba Valley, or in Rhaeto-Romanic "Val Fenga", is around 16 kilometres long and is by far the most interesting valley, both from a historical and commercial perspective. An important pass ran through the valley that connected Engadin and Paznaun. At 2,264 metres the ‘Heidelberger Hütte’ provides refreshment and protection from the elements.
The educational trail named after and in honour of Mathias Schmid is of artistic value. On the occasion of the 150th birthday of the artist, who originated from the holiday resort See, together with the museum the path was named in his memory. The museum, a distinctive building with a hip roof, is the starting point for a tranquil walk along the artist's appealing plates. Over 40 reproductions are available for you to admire. The artist concentrated on religious painting and the representation of agricultural life in Tyrol.
