Q: What is the best time of the year to spend a mountain biking vacation in Ischgl? When does the biking season in Ischgl start and when does it end?
A: June through October.
Depending on the weather and snow status, most tours can begin in mid May or early June and the trails are in perfect condition for mountain biking. The season extends far into October. The entire summer season is perfect for a vacation. Extremely high temperatures are nothing to be concerned about here, thanks to the elevations of our mountain regions.
Q: How can I combine a family vacation with kids and mountain biking in Ischgl?
A: Biking with children is probably not such a great idea – taking a family vacation here – absolutely yes!
There are just a few routes that could be rated as easy. However, the vast majority of our single trails and bike tours does require at least a certain level of skill and stamina. Nonetheless, Ischgl does offer excellent childcare programmes and numerous recreational activities the entire family will enjoy. Take time to spend with your kids, but enjoy some action on your own every once in a while! Bicycle trailers for children or children’s seats on the bike, by the way, are completely inappropriate for terrain adventures.
Q: We are a Bike Club (or a group of friends) and would like to combine biking adventures with partying. Is Ischgl as cool in the summer when it comes to clubs and parties as it is in the winter time?
A: Fewer parties, more enjoyment.
In the summer time Ischgl is much calmer than it is in the winter season. However, we invite you to hold up the time tested slogan: “It’s cool wherever we are!” You certainly won’t be returning home dying for a drink. Nonetheless, whenever you take out your bike, you should make sure that you’ve had plenty of sleep and you’re definitely sober.
Q: Do we have to plan to take long trips in the car to get to the single trails and tours from Ischgl? Are the funiculars in operation during the summer season and available for mountain biking use?
A: 1.: No 2.: Yes.
You can start your tour on the bike right in Ischgl. Or simply climb the initial altitude difference (if not all) on the funicular. Another alternative: book a room in a mountain hotel.
Q: Does Ischgl have a Bike Park?
A: Yes.
The Bike Park is located in the woods, in the immediate proximity of the village of Ischgl. It is not suitable for beginners, given that it boasts 15 obstacles, which makes it perfect for driving technique training and to prepare for rides in the terrain.
Q: Is a pick-up service available that picks riders up at the destination of extended tours and brings them back to Ischgl?
A: Yes.
You have the option of booking individual rides or to get on bike shuttles, which charge a fee, and you can also take advantage of the excellent infrastructure of the bike friendly public transportation services. The Silvretta Card allows you to ride all public transportation vehicles and funiculars in the region for free.
