We’ve all been there. You have just completed an adventurous mountain bike tour with perhaps thousands of altitude metres and now you’re dreading the idea of having to go back the same way. Knowing this, Ischgl makes the return trip for bikers as easy as it could be.
The Ischgl Bike Arena is gigantic. It stretches across expansive parts of the Silvretta, Samnaun and Verwall regions. These are just three of the mountain ranges that hover across the Paznaun valley, into which Ischgl is nestled. You also have the option to take numerous routes in conjunctions with single day tours, multiple day tours or bike safaris. We do, however, understand that once you’ve done one of these you’ll want to get back to your accommodations in Ischgl as quickly and conveniently as you can.

The infrastructure of the entire bike region is perfectly synchronized with the needs of bikers. On the one hand, you have at your disposal the funiculars, which will bring you back from Samnaun to Ischgl, just to give you one example. The services offered by public transportation are also impressive: if you have a Silvretta Card the use of funiculars, buses and trains is complimentary – even way beyond the Paznau valley region. A ride from Arlberg to Ischgl via bus or train, for instance, will not cost you anything extra.
Of course, you might dread using such services as well – thinking about: potential waiting times, transfers, and the length of the trip. Well, of course, even though the connections in the region are very well coordinated and expansive, you may encounter some waiting times. If you can’t live with those, we recommend the use of the Ischgl taxi and shuttle services. Transfer shuttles will wait for you at the most popular bike tour destinations by appointment. It goes without saying that a larger number of passengers will reduce the cost of such transportation. If you choose a bike route that you find highly attractive, you might actually arrive at a very remote location. However, a bike taxi will pick you up even at such destinations.

Making reservations for a taxi or shuttle to pick you up after your mountain bike tour is very easy. Simply call the operator directly and set up an appointment. If you are unsure of your arrival time, the best thing to do is ask the Tourism Office in Ischgl. If you are embarking on a guided tour with a guide from the Ischgl Bike Academy or Silvretta Bike Academy your transportation will of course be arranged by the bike school.
