Climbing in the Austrian Alps - Flimspitze mountain
Summer holidays in the Tyrolean mountains

Climbing at the Filmspitze mountain
At almost 3,000 metres above sea level, Flimspitze mountain is the highest summit of the entire skiing region. A short and easy via ferrata leads to the summit cross with its magnificent views.
The via ferrata at Flimspitze mountain covers an altitude difference of 120 metres over the course of 200 metres. The easy to intermediate difficulty level (A to B) makes it easy to ascend over the via ferrata in 20 to 25 minutes. Suitable equipment is required for the via ferrata. At the summit, fantastic views of the mountain environment of the Silvretta range await you. Climbing the via ferrata is at your own risk.
Route
Turn northward at the mountain station of the Flimjochbahn cable car. You will reach the access to the via ferrata after 400 metres, below a distinct rock slab. Once you have climbed the rock slab, a trail over light terrain takes you to the summit. After enjoying the view take a walk on the hiking trail back to the Idalp Alpine pasture.
A trip to the via ferrata at Greitspitze mountain is a must during your summer holidays in Austria. This via ferrata is slightly longer and more difficult. The view from the summit 2,872 metres above sea level is breathtaking. From there you can see far into the Swiss and Italian Alps - what a reward for the slightly more difficult ascent.
Trips to the via ferrata at Flimspitze mountain and Greitspitze mountain are the crowning moments of your summer holidays in the Tyrolean mountains. Send a no obligation holiday enquiry or book your holiday accommodation online.
