The Tyrolean provincial government has been giving this award since 1977, awarded in three yearly intervals. This seal of approval stands for consistent marking and care of pistes with a suitable rescue service. It also stands for safety in the alpine area, where the danger is so very often underrated. Instead of official regulations and red tape enforcements, this award system was chosen, to be able to set new safety standards for skiing on the pistes.
